Found that people can interpret phone&#8217;s emotion. Makes sense to look at how we can get people to interpret the emotions as someone else&#8217;s emotions (via the phone)\u2026 could just be a context thing, like making the phone ring.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Were able to get some negative emotions (scared, creepy, etc)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; positive valence and high arousal would probably be easier to communicate (people like to interpret things as happy\u2026 Jessica and Oliver&#8217;s opinion) \u2026Oliver found that the really animated one were negative<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Heikkinen 2009<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; if people receive a emotional message they want to be able to reciprocate<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; section 4.2.2 is most important\/relevant<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; communicating emotion just using touch<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; concerned about privacy \u2026we may still be concerned with privacy (but maybe for different reasons)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other paper Jessica read<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; emotional expressivity<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; interpreting people&#8217;s body movements as a way to express emotion<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; talk about how to characterize things<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; sent crazy color pictures to people<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ways to pick emotions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; pick emotions that give us good coverage of the chart<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; pick emotions commonly expressed in emails\/texts<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; pick emotions that would be easiest to express with a phone<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Looking at the four corners of the emotion quadrant for now\u2026 keep things really far apart for now\u2026 see where there might be blending, or where differentiation is needed, then adjust what emotions we&#8217;re focusing on.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; intimate messages (love, etc) might be important to explore\u2026 fall under &#8216;pleased&#8217;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Discussion with Oliver (Jessica) &#8211; Oliver looked at the phone expressing the phone&#8217;s emotion.
